Eligibility
A refund is available for a paid Map Table, Field Notes, Observatory Desk, or studio seat purchased from Node Mapbase. Complimentary guest attendance and open journal essays are not purchases and have nothing to refund.
Timeframe
Write to us within 14 days of the confirmation email if you have not yet submitted a marked map and the first live session (if any) has not begun. After the first live session, or after we return the first marked artefact for Field Notes, the cooling-off window for a full refund closes.
If we cancel a cohort from our side before it starts, you receive a full refund. If we postpone by more than 28 days and you cannot take the new dates, you may choose a full refund or a transfer.
Full and partial refunds
Full refund: unused cooling-off, or cancellation by us. Partial refund: if you withdraw after week two of a six-week Map Table, we retain 40% for marking already done and return the rest, provided you have not received the remaining recorded library as a permanent download. Observatory Desk hours already delivered are charged at £390 per hour used; unused hours are returned.
Non-refundable items
Bank transfer fees charged by your bank. Printed maps you asked us to post after you received them. Third-party examination fees — we do not sell those, and if you booked one elsewhere that is not our item. A seat transferred into your name from another student is treated as used if that student already passed the cooling-off point.
How to request a refund
Email info@node-mapbase.digital with the confirmation reference, the programme name, and whether you want money back or a later cohort. You may also write to 37 Roman Rd; Ledsham; L66 3AY; United Kingdom, or call 079 6609 7962. Postal requests are timed from the date of receipt at the desk.
Processing time and method
We aim to instruct the return within 10 working days of accepting the request, and the money should appear along the same rails it arrived (UK Faster Payments where we received Faster Payments; card acquirer where we received a card). We do not refund onto a different person’s account without a written instruction that satisfies our fraud checks.
Cancellation by you
You may cancel in writing at any time. After the windows above, cancellation stops future sessions but does not by itself create a refund. We will still return unused Observatory hours as described.
Exceptions
If we reasonably believe maps were copied from another student, we may refuse a goodwill refund and end the seat. If illness prevents attendance, send a brief note; we prefer a transfer to the next cohort over a dispute. Statutory rights under United Kingdom consumer law are not displaced where they apply to you as a consumer — including any mandatory cooling-off that is more generous than 14 days for a distance contract that has not begun.
